Welcome to The Pottery Paddock!
The Best of Both Worlds
Dual passions for clay and horses unite at The Pottery Paddock, which opened its doors in March 2005. For me the natural energies of clay and horses have a lot in common: both alternate between accepting and resisting my touch; both are beautiful in structure, texture and shape.
My teaching methods, which include hand built and wheel-thrown pottery, are inspired by the natural world, years of teaching in after school programs and a lifetime of working with horses.
Our electric kiln is usually firing cone 5/6 stoneware.
Please join us in a relaxing environment with a view of the horses grazing in their paddocks. Beginners welcome.
"If we are to protect this earth, we will have to recognize that the sacred, the numinous, and the wellsprings of creativity can be touched when we open our souls to the souls of other living creatures"
